Later I built a 10 element Beam on a 30 foot piece of irrigatonb tubing modeled from Bill Ores VHF Handbook Worked My first Ja and I was hooked on 6 for good. I have worked all Japan, WAC on 6 meters Twice Was 4 times. I am a Broadcast Engineer have the pleasure of owning 10 Broadcast stations have lived in the same QTH for 50 years Rig now is a Icom 7700 Command 2000 + Telrex 11 element antenna 75 feet....alsoa 1KW setup at the work place plus a Beacon on the air since 1972 24 hours a day I have had the pleasure of instructing young as well as old Hams and Have personally licensed more than 100.

I began my career in Ham Radio at the age of 14.. Starting out as many did with a not to be repeated call My first rig was a Viking adventuer and a SX 24 receiver. I functioned with the unmentioned call until 1956 when I was assigned K0GUV.. which I continue to hold to this date. My first contact with K0GUV wasW0VJS who has since passed away. I was very active in the Ramsey County Mobile radio Corps and at this date am probably the only surving member. We built packsets that operated on 10 and 6 meters and used thm many times to help in community emergencies. In my young years I worked with Hall Electric in St. paul Minn and was privleged to sell Collins Johnson Hallicrafters Hammarlund Gonset and Telrex Antennas.When I got my drivers license and my first car I immediately went mobile with a Stancor 203 A and a Carter Dynomotor and a Gonset Converter which I still have.
Radio is my prime hobby the second is Classic Cars which include a 1949 Ford Conv,1952 Hudson Super Wasp Conv,1959 Ford Conv,1959 Edsel Conv, 1970 Matador Conv, 1970 Impaqlla Conv,1964 Thunderbird Conv.
