K8MMM Radio Club Club Charter and Bylaws Purpose: Activities: The Club may create a beacon station, participate in contests, engage in Dxpeditions, and attend social gatherings and Hamfests, and other activities as the members deem appropriate.
The Club was founded in order to preserve and protect the call letters “K8MMM”. The call sign, K8MMM, was held by Thomas A. Baker for approximately 50 years, during which time Tom was well known in the Amateur Radio community and particularly with 6 meter operators as a “ham” devoted to the advancement of Amateur Radio. Tom was an innovator in many aspects of the hobby and particularly in the areas of antenna and amplifier design and construction. The new club will be devoted to sharing technical data, construction techniques, and all other activities related to the advancement of 6 meter operation and Amateur Radio in general.
Bylaws: The Club will be open to other licensed operators based on a unanimous approval from all current members. The Club will formally meet at least once per year via teleconference or face to face meeting, and informally at other times as the need arises.
Annual Dues: The Club will discuss this at the meeting, but any dues will be minimal.
